Collection Databases

The UAIC has a species-level database of the holdings in the pinned collection. This database includes full taxonomic information and general distribution data derived from the UAIC specimens as well as from literature sources. This information is especially detailed for species from Arizona. Host and habitat information is added when available.  The database is accessible online. You can log in here as a guest. Use the drop-down menu on the top left corner for additional layouts and search functions.

The UAIC is in the process of developing a new specimen-level database in Symbiota.  Entries for each specimen include a unique UAIC number, higher taxonomic information, collection event information including georeferenced locality data, and (when available) host and habitat information. For select groups, entries will be linked to a dorsal view of the specimen and an image of the labels.
This new database is searchable through this website and the data will be provided to the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF).
